Howdy Reader! Quick question... How do you like to recharge your creativity? Shoot me an email; I’d really like to know. When you’re reading this, I’ll probably be sleeping off a Dole-Whip hangover from a day in the Disney Parks. Abs and I are getting ready to hang out with Lou Mongello and friends for his always awesome Momentum event. We got here a little early to do some work and also recharge a bit in one of our favorite places. We hung out with the Unsinkable Conor Brown (frequent co-host for the Friday show and all-around smart guy) for dinner last night, then ran into my friend Rich Watts as we were heading for drinks at one of my favorite stops in Disney Springs, Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar. Today we hung out with all the animals at Animal Kingdom, and one of the highlights was that we were able to take a drawing class. Abs easily out-classed me with her drawing, but we both had a blast. We agreed it was creative and relaxing at the same time. I know that I’ll be recharged after this road trip, which will involve hanging out with friends, speaking, and learning from other entrepreneurs. I’m very aware of how blessed I am to be able to do this. Not only do I get to go to Disney with my daughter, but she’s also part of the team now, so traveling with her for business makes it extra special. As creatives, it’s easy to get head-down and be so focused on creating that we forget to come up for air and even sometimes neglect family. I’m not perfect, and I know that I have failed miserably in the past. But I’m trying to do better. My challenge to you this week is to find something (or someone) you love and take an hour just to enjoy whatever or whomever that is. Guilt-free.
